WWE superstar Alba Fyre is ‘devastated’ after her mother died aged 51 in a horror crash while on holiday in Florida.

The 31-year-old Scottish wrestler, whose real name is Kayleigh Rae, and her family have been left heartbroken after Bridgeen Mitchell and her dad Ronnie were hit by a car while visiting their daughter in Orlando.

Her dad survived the accident on May 17, but Bridgeen died from her injuries shortly afterwards.

Her tragic death came just weeks before Alba is set to wrestle at WWE’s Clash At The Castle event in Scotland, in what will be an emotional homecoming.

As reported by the Daily Record, the couple had flown out to Florida to see their daughter, who is a global WWE superstar.

Local officers said the driver was cooperative at the scene, and it’s thought no charges will be pressed.

‘My mum and dad were hit by a vehicle while crossing the road. Unfortunately my mum didn’t make it,’ Alba said.

‘Words cannot describe how devastated we all are. She was the most caring, fun loving person, the life of every party, and the biggest wee legend we all knew. She was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.

‘We know everyone will be feeling this loss, and while our family would appreciate some privacy at this time we’d like people to remember my mum for all the love she brought to everyone.’

Shortly after the crash, the wrestling star paid tribute to her mum with an emotional post on Instagram.

She wrote: ‘The world won’t be the same without you. Love you mum.’

A GoFundMe page has been set up to raise money to bring Bridgeen’s body back to Scotland, with over £2,500 raised thus far.

A post on the page reads: ‘The family whilst going through such a traumatic time, are also having to arrange to bring Bridgeen back home before they can make further plans to lay her to rest.’

Under the ring name Kay Lee Ray, Alba made history holding the NXT UK Women’s Championship for 649 days, which is a record for a women’s title in WWE.

This weekend, she and her Unholy Union teammate and fellow Scottish star Isla Dawn will challenge for the Women’s Tag Team Titles in Glasgow.
